For nearly 1,400 years, from the rise of Islam in the 7th century until almost the end of the 20th century, very few Muslims became followers of Jesus Christ.
During those centuries, the flow of conversion largely moved in the opposite direction. In many regions of the Middle East and North Africa—places that once had vibrant Christian communities—millions of Christians and others converted to Islam, usually under duress. Entire nations that had once been majority Christian became overwhelmingly Muslim.
For generations, many Christians assumed that the Muslim world was simply one of the hardest places on earth for the Gospel to take root.
Then something remarkable began to happen.
Almost quietly at first… and then on a massive scale.
A Movement No One Expected
Over the past several decades, an extraordinary shift has taken place…..Across the Muslim world, millions of Muslims have begun naming Jesus as their Savior.
Researchers estimate that the number is now in the tens of millions, and some observers suggest that more than 50 million Muslims have chosen to follow Christ in recent decades.
